Douvelle19 is a Newport-born producer, songwriter and DJ whose genre-defying sound draws from UK underground club culture, emotive songwriting and influences ranging from jazz, blues and trip hop to grime, house, metal and Arabic pop. At 15, he co-founded Astroid Boys, fusing grime, punk, metal and hip hop before the group signed to Sony Records, released the acclaimed album Broke and toured internationally. After releasing solo music as Dellux through Chase & Status’ MTA Records, he relaunched as Douvelle19, developing a more personal sound rooted in melody, emotion, house, UK garage, bass and electronic production. His releases, including the D19 and When I Dream EPs, the Edits series and RCA Records projects such as Love Me Not and Ghost featuring AntsLive, have earned support from artists and tastemakers including Disclosure, Joy Orbison, Salute, Pete Tong and Todd Edwards. Now continuing to blur the lines between underground credibility and crossover songwriting, Douvelle19 remains driven by the belief that great music should never be confined to one genre.
